The 1994 Brickyard 400 was held on August 6, 1994, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. The race was the inaugural Brickyard 400 and marked the first time that NASCAR Cup Series cars raced at the historic track.
Jeff Gordon won the race, leading 93 of the 160 laps and holding off a late charge from Brett Bodine. The win was Gordon's second of the season and helped solidify his position as one of NASCAR's rising stars.
Following Gordon and Bodine in the top five were Morgan Shepherd, Dale Earnhardt, and Mark Martin. The race field featured many of the sport's top drivers and teams, including Rusty Wallace, Bill Elliott, Kyle Petty, and Darrell Waltrip.
The Brickyard 400 has since become one of NASCAR's most prestigious races, with winners including Dale Jarrett, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, and Kevin Harvick. The race is known for its rich history, close finishes, and the pageantry of racing at one of the world's most iconic sporting venues.
